A lifelong sports fan, Trish Kennedy was disheartened to learn that every four hours, a professional athlete goes broke. Using their vast business and life experience, Trish, and her husband Tom, founded SportsMoney with the sole purpose of reversing this trend and ensure athletes and their families have the tools, knowledge and advice to ensure sustainable, lifelong incomes. Trish serves as SportsMoney’s CEO, directing all aspects of the company’s operations, as well as, playing a key role in its client relationships, sports agency partnerships, public relations and thought leadership.

Prior to SportsMoney, Trish, together with her husband Tom Kennedy, built and sold two successful software companies. Most recently transforming BackOffice Associates LLC from a two-person company into a global software and services organization with a staff of 500 worldwide. In the early years of BackOffice, Trish served as VP of Sales and Marketing, Chief Operating Officer and finally Chief Executive Officer until she stepped down from her daily involvement in the company after securing a second major equity investment from Goldman Sachs Capital Partners in May 2011. She remained on the company’s Board of Managers until the Kennedys divested their remaining shares in December of 2012.

A lifelong entrepreneur and the mother of four boys Trish has dedicated her life to helping people in many ways including extensive philanthropic work with local school sports programs, scholarships, ALS, Alzheimer’s, and is a partner with the Patriots Charitable Foundation. She holds a BS degree, Mass Communications from VCU. She is a Trustee for the Cape Cod Community College Board of Trustees, a board member of the International Maritime Business Advisory Board at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and a member of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.

I was an Oakland A’s fan and loved Raleigh Fingers and Catfish Hunter.

Jersey Number if I was a Pro Athlete:

I would definitely be a quarterback so a low number maybe 5, but I am especially fond of the number 12.

“Baseball’s Greatest Miracle”: The Red Socks comeback in the 2004 ALCS.

Super Fan Game Day Ritual:

I always call my favorite head coach Bill to approve the game plan. Then I throw on my red beret and fire up the grill for a little tailgate before we get serious!
